Weaving local māmā together through radical health.

The impacts of comfort culture…

I first started looking deeper into products, foods, and labels when I became a mom. It put me into overdrive, near obsession, realizing so much of todayʻs society is toxic. On top of that, this toxic, comfortable culture is completely normalized.

We wonder why our world is plagued by sickness with unknown cures?

No one talks about how to prevent disease, or why it is so rampant.

The Health Hui is a community that questions for the greatest good of the people, and land.

He aliʻi ka ʻāina

ʻĀina health is reflection of humanities health, and vice versa. As we survey the past until now, we see how traditional ways of living worked with ʻāina. Āina meaning - that which feeds, tells us everything about the importance of this obligation and relationship humans will always with the land.

Current day society threatens our natural and innate connection to ʻāina. We are severed in access to land, access to sustainable and healthy food sources, and ways of living. This all happened in around 1.5 generations. Think about how all our grandparents had gardens, fished, knew how to fix and build things. Their knowledge of growing food, and relationship to ʻāina was passed down to them and valued. Today, most are either reclaiming this knowledge and practice, as very few have been fortunate enough for this to get passed down.

Growing up with my grandparents, I thought growing food was everyoneʻs reality. Then when working with MAʻO Organic Farms Middle School Garden Program, I realized how foreign this was in most ʻohana.

Not everyone identifies as an ʻāina person, but all of us eat. We must all have deeper connection to that which feeds us, for the consequences are grave.

ALOHA!

I'm Noelle Kauanoe Campbell.

Iʻve been in the health and wellness space ʻofficially,ʻ for 8 years, but my curiosity began from an early age watching my grandma make medicine, talk health, and live a clean lifestyle. When I became a mom, my research of products and food went into overdrive as I was constantly reading labels, looking for healthier alternatives, and shocked at how toxic our everyday lives were, and no one was really talking about it.

Before transitioning into the entrepreneur space, I worked in education. From a Kumu Kaiapuni in the classroom, to Educator at MAʻO Organic Farms, to Education Coordinator at Paepae o Heʻeia, I humbly have a ton of on the grounds training in ʻāina work, sustainability, and food security. My passions!

My foundation before my official work experience had been Lāʻau Lapaʻau with Kumu Levon Ohai, and Kahoʻolawe. These two Kumu shaped my whole life lens and relationship to ʻāina.

I currently run Māmā Biz Life, a community for mothers in business, and The Health Hui has been a heart project in the making for years. I am so excited to bring this to you all, so that we can create real, deeper connections to self, ʻohana, ʻāina, akua.
